Ammonium metavanadate is a white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water and dilute ammonia water. When burned in the air, it becomes vanadium pentoxide, which is toxic. It is mainly used as chemical reagent and catalyst, and can also be used to produce V205.
